Dear Friends and neighbors;
I am sending you this letter to inform you of some very exciting news. Mayor Jim Byard, Jr. recently signed a contract for the preliminary engineering for a widening project on McQueen Smith Road. This project should produce better traffic flow and a safer driving environment for all of us. The area in question is McQueen Smith from Hwy 31 to Main Street. In addition to the widening of this road we will be addressing and considering acceleration lanes, deceleration lanes, protected turn lanes and proper signals at intersections. A public meeting will be held sometime this summer so you can view the plans and get your questions answered.
